Maple wood tray

Birdseye Maple wood tray, carved and routered from slab that was at least 30 years old. Used clear epoxy to fill in voids, and buffed these to glass clarity. Subsequent use of maple I created coasters, which were lased by a Woodcraft employee with a monogram which I created,

Magazine Table

This is a hallway magazine table that I made from slab Claro. I wanted to go through the whole process of milling the lumber from a slab (a first for me!). It was a great learning experience, but I'll probably stick to S2S in the future! Traditional M&T joinery, and some Craftsman/Mission styling that my wife likes so much. Finished with some Watco Dark Walnut for a consistent color, a seal coat of ruby shellac, then a gel stain for some pop and four coats of sprayed lacquer and buffed out. Now my wife puts shoes on it…oh well, I'm still happy with it!
