Prescription bottle caddy

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Prescription bottle caddyI got tired of having a line of prescription bottle take a tumble while reaching for the tall ones in the back on my desk. So I made a corral for the spot. Cherry and ribbon Sapele, with home-made inlay-banding (bloodwood, holly, cherry). Padded on shellac.
The dividers are made with the most excellent home-made kerfmaker, (mine made after Mafe's contribution to the forum) https://www.lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/18170. All friction fit without glue.
Unfinished QS White Oak, Cherry and one lonely bit of Walnut that was the right thickness. To be truthful, I might have used Danish on them but when I tested the fit it snapped in so tight I decided to just leave well enough alone, which is rarely how I operate

A Box Cello

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

A Box CelloA while ago my wife mentioned that someday she would like to learn the cello. That set me to thinking until I realized that I could probably build something like a cello. The front and back are from poplar drawer which I planed to a thick ness of about 3/16 inch. The sides and top of the box are white oak.I had ordered a neck, but after 3 months of waiting, I just went ahead and carved one using a pattern I found on the web. It was a bit of a job to carve oak, but I had examples of what I was trying to do at work to guide me. I did manage to buy the tuning pegs, strings, bridge, fingerboard and end pin. After putting it all together I stained everything but the fingerboard with Jacobean stain and finished it with spray lacquer. The result is something quite unique, but playable.More info on thebbuild is available here: (link)I hope to have a sample of it being played soon.Mandatory glue up shots:

Inner tissue revealed, poplar burl bowl

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Inner tissue revealed, poplar burl bowlI collected a big polar burl last week and turned it into a pot. After microwave-oven drying, the wood warped. The effect is prominent in poplar wood, since its tissue is soft. In addition, the surface displays fine structures; grooves along the curly and bumps on burls, as can be seen in the last picture.
