Greetings Everyone,The Platter is made of strips of whatever wood I had in stock.Mainly all Hard Wood. There is a little bit of Pine in there. Also the White Wood is Pallet Wood. I would say some kind of Pine.PLATTER SIZE IS 10 1/2 inches Diameter. 1 inch Deep.Finish is 3 Coats of CABOTS Bench Top Varnish, Water Based.The Lip of the Platter was much bigger and was looking pretty good, ” BUT YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT”
I was happily sanding away and noticed a glint of Silver. Yep…There it was , the ends of a staple poking out.
It had to be removed. Particularly as the Platter was for a Friends Wife.
So by the time I removed the Staple there was a nice Gouge in the wood right on the edge. To rectify the problem it was necessary to Turn and sand more wood off. So that is why the Platter has only a very small low Lip around the edge.Have a great Day. Happy and Safe Wood Working,Regards….......Cliff.

4 years in the making and many prototypes!13 separate layers of 1/8 Baltic birch- laser cut and etched. 32 tiny doors of 1/8 cherry, 64 metal hinges
Installed with 128 tiny rivets! Made as alignment jig and and a press for assembly. Acrylic paint job.I actually finished a project!3 out of 13 sold and built, Just sold 2 more for Christmas delivery.I may have charged too little
