Burned cedar 40 year old burned stump I finally got around to doing something with it. Used a Chainsaw and dremmel tool to carve this wood spirit. I remember being around 10 years old and helping my dad burn some brush, this stump did not completely burn, so we tossed it in the woods. Ran back across it while looking for some wood to carve.

A Surprise Gift for my Fruit & Veggie man's offsider - Hot Rod Ford "C" Cab FlatbedThis is a Surprise Gift for my Fruit & Veggie man's off-sider – Hot Rod Ford “C” Cab FlatbedThe story goes that Sam has been working at the shop for past two years and every time I take a truck in, to show the owner [my friend Sam] the off-sider Sam starts asking about buying tickets for the community club or how much for this one!Well with all the world in lockdown over this virus thing I spent the better part of 4 days over the weekend enjoying myself in the shed.The result is a Hot Rod Ford “C” Cab Flatbed with a lot of peterbilt detailing…The cabin is old Spotted Gum
The engine is Red Gum
The bed is pre-coated Merbau Flooring
The sides are Merbau
The radiator is sliced Merbau Decking
The front & rear bumper bars are Tassie Oak
The front mudguards are Red Gum
The wheels are shop bought [front 2” and rear 2.5”]
The axle blocks are Merbau
The fuel tanks Camphor Laurel & Australian Red Cedar
The headlights are Tassie Oak with furniture buttons
The seat is Australian Red Cedar
The steering wheel is a timber button on a bamboo skewer
The side steps are Red Gum and Australian Red Cedar
The FORD Logo is courtesy of Alex [Thank you again LBD]The rear axle pivots to compensate for the front & rear wheel size differenceAbout a 25 hour build over the 4 days…Dimensions are
18” [455mm] long
6.75” [170mm] wide
7” [180mm] highThe finish is my home made Wipe On Poly [3 coats]
30% Tung Oil, 40% Clear Satin Polyurethane, 30% Mineral Turps.And here's a few extra photos….The gift will be given to Sam tomorrow when I buy my weekends Fruit & Veggies.
I'm sure he will be embarrassed but I know he has a couple of young boys who will love playing with it.

FIRE TRUCK

FIRE TRUCKFinally done with this Fire Truck year ago a guy from church asked if I could make him a fire truck for his son of course I said sure I can not knowing then I would have to have been put into hospital twice for my collapsed lung hopefully now they have that problem fixed . He gave me free range to use my own wood and ideas so I asked a question here on LJ's and of course Duchy Jan came thru for me and sent me some Red dye I mixed it up to his directions on WOW what a nice job it did took about 49 hours was very glad to get it done as it took way too long and was getting to be more of a hassle then pleasure but here it finally is all maple and walnut and mahogany and grill is bamboo skewers
