Corner shadow box
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
A friend had a special request for his shadow box and this one really tried my abilities and patience. Now that it is complete, I'm glad I agreed to do it. The transition from the bottom shadow box to the flag case was the biggest challenge, but with a some trial and error I think I pulled it off pretty well. I had the engraving done at the base hobby shop, but had to stain it with a small brush to make it stand out once I stained the whole project. It is made of oak with a golden oak stain. The dimensions are about 41/2 ft. tall by 2 ft. wide and the flag is tilted back 45 degrees.

Ash Double Shelf
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
My daughter asked for a simple shelf for her kitchen and this is what I pulled together. I started with some pallet wood that I saved from my days of making Pro baseball bats @ MaxBats. The ash is spalted and has a few nail holes to contend with. I started with over 1” thick and planed to 5/8” and cut to 52” long. The upper shelf is 5” and the lower is 6” wide, stained with aged pine and covered with 3 coats of a wipe on poly which really pulled out the beautiful grain of the ash. I left the shelf spacers at a 1” thickness. When I present it to her it'll come with a story of the wood that came from upper New York state. I appreciate all the great info that I have picked up from fellow LJ. Thanks
